Weekly Summary #4 (Mar 22, 2026 to Mar 28, 2026): Window House Shopping
April 11, 2026
Just another week. My only topic is my experience with window house shopping. I’m just looking to see what is out there.
Window House Shopping
I am not in a rush to purchase a home, but I was just curious to see what is on the market. As many people in Canada know, the nation’s housing market is in a rough spot. Housing prices have soared for the past few years or so. However, there have been some signs of cooling down recently.
Even if you’re not looking forward to buying a house anytime soon, I still think it can be a good exercise to do, just to get a sense of what you want (or think you want) and what the market is like right now. For example, you can figure out what kind of property sounds ideal to you (ie. condo, semi-detatched, etc.) and what areas you might want to live in. Amenities are also an important aspect to consider. If I were to buy a condo, in-unit laundry is a must.
This could also go for finding a place to rent just to see if you are looking to move elsewhere.
Media Log
- Almost done Baldur’s Gate 3! We’re pretty much at the final set of battles.
- I’ve watched the final episode of Season 7 of Black Mirror, which was the sequel to USS Callister. It was a great continuation of the previous episode.
Loose Thoughts
- A reminder to not let perfect be the enemy of the good. You can apply this logic when it comes to doing things like producing creative work, supporting a political candidate, or making incremental gains towards a greater goal. A variation of this statement is “Perfection is the enemy of progress”, which can be interpreted similarly.
- There’s a concerning amount of people on r/findapath who think if they do not have something figured out by a certain age, they are doomed. These posters are usually young (I’m talking early to mid 20s). These people need a reality check and a reminder that they’re still young and have time.
Cool Find of the Week
Here’s a YouTube video by WIRED featuring UC Berkeley Computer Science Professor Sarah Chasins. She answers a lot of questions about coding and computer science.
